What the STS does

SUN-STS500L is a static transfer switch — it connects grid, load and diesel generator and enables fast on/off-grid switching with the PCS. It does not store energy and does not generate 500 kW of power. Backup capability depends on PCS, battery and load together.

Power paths and scale

Grid/PCS side, load side and GEN side are each rated 500 kW — do not add them to claim 1.5 MW on a single STS. One STS supports 5×100 kW or 4×125 kW PCS. Up to 5 STS in parallel reach 2.5 MW system scale. Sustained off-grid load should follow PCS guidance (typically ≤70% of PCS rating for continuous off-grid).

Does the STS store or generate 500 kW?

No. It is a transfer switch. Energy storage and power conversion are handled by battery and PCS. Backup duration and power depend on that system and the load.

Is one STS 1.5 MW?

No. Grid/PCS, load and GEN are each 500 kW paths. Do not add them. 2.5 MW is multi-STS system capacity (up to 5 modules).

Does &lt;10 ms mean zero interruption everywhere?

Transfer is <10 ms with PCS and battery. It is not diesel start-within-10 ms, and it is not a claim that every device sees absolute zero interruption.

Can I run continuous off-grid at 500 kW on the STS alone?

No. Sustained off-grid load should follow PCS guidance (commonly ≤70% of PCS rating). Do not promise continuous full load from the STS rating alone.

How many PCS per STS?
